A story of innovation

In 1983, Pierre Jardinier, a former engineer at CSTB (French Building Research Institute) was in charge of air quality research laboratory SERVA. With two partners, he designed the first humidity sensitive extract grille that would ultimately lead to the development of Aereco as a company, from a small basic workshop to the present 8,000m² facility currently producing millions of components.

Convinced by the quality of their invention, these pioneers achieved great success. Humidity sensitive ventilation became more and more popular, and its quality was first officially recognised by the EDF energy-saving “Vivrelec” label in 1995, and then by the French Thermal Regulation RT2000. Aereco humidity sensitive ventilation has today become the referent system of the current thermal regulation RT2005, and will be positioned among the best technical-economical solutions in the forthcoming RT2012.
