BXC hps: the humidity sensitive exhaust unit that indicates the ventilation system status

Aereco has developed the BXC hps*, a humidity sensitive exhaust unit that indicates to the occupant the operating status of the ventilation system. In addition to modulating the airflow according to humidity, this exhaust unit indicates whether the ventilation is operating correctly or not.

The BXC hps* is especially adapted to satisfy Section 1.2.2.10 of the Technical Guidance Documents (TGD) Part F 2019 of the new Building Regulations in Ireland.

A seamless integration of our humidity sensitive extract system with a control indicator

From the 1st of November 2020, under the new building regulations in Ireland, a fault indicator should indicate that the system is running correctly, a light that says there is power to the device or an app on someone’s phone is unlikely to meet the requirement. The BXC hps provides the homeowner with information on the correct operating performance of the ventilation. In line with these new regulations, the BXC hps indicates correct running performance of the system and alerts the homeowner of a fault.

Compliant with TGD Part F – 2019technical guidance document part f

– Controls for centralised continuous mechanical extract ventilation should be suitable for continuous operation. Control indicators should indicate to the occupant that the system is operating correctly and if a fault has occurred. Control indicators should be in a visible location to the occupant and not in a remote location such as in the attic or above the ceiling. –

1.2.2.10 Controls for centralized continuous mechanical extract ventilation should be suitable for continuous operation.
